Painter, born Sheffield, England. Settled in Chicago in 1859. Moved to San Francisco, California in 1870. Painted landscapes of Yosemite, Lake Tahoe, and a series on the 21 Franciscan missions which he published in 1900. Edwin Deakin's works are included in the collections of the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco, M.H. de Young Memorial Museum and the Oakland Museum, Oakland, California.
